FAQs

iPixel

What is iPixel?

iPixel is a new generation of Ebrium Lasers for Skin Resurfacing.

What are the benefits of iPixel?

Pixel Ebrium helps with many skin issues.
1. Skin Resurfacing / Scars
2. Skin Tightening
3. Pigments
4. Fine Lines and Wrinkles.
5. Broken Capillaries
6. Melasma
7. Stretch Marks

Will there be any downtime with iPixel?

iPixel is an ablative procedure, where tiny holes will be created on top and beneath the surface. Clients can expect 3-5 days of downtime while the skin heals. Most clients will experience flushed skin, those with pigment issues, will see some scattering and darkening of the pigments. Makeup should be avoided for 5 days post treatment.

Is the iPixel procedure painful?

There is some mild discomfort during the procedure, depending on the area being treated, a numbing agent may be applied prior to your procedure. Most clients report heat after the treatment which normally lasts 1-2 days after the procedure.

Will there be 'pin holes' on my face?

If you are treating your face, then yes, there will be tiny holes that will be visible for 3-5 days. Once the healing process has passed, exfoliation is required to break the pixels. Once the exfoliation process starts, the pixel formations will break down and disappear.

What will I notice after a session?

Expect the skin to be flushed and have tiny pin holds on the treated area (less visible on fair skin) immediately after the treatment. Once the healing phase has passed and exfoliation started, new smooth skin will form in the weeks ahead. Improvements will continue for the next 4-5 weeks.

What is the difference between Ablative and non-Ablative?

Non-Ablative treatments like ClearLift leave the surface of the skin intact, Ablative (like iPixel) is a more aggressive treatment that will strip some of the skin from the surface. Ablative treatments require 3-5 days of downtime and no makeup. There is also more discomfort with ablative.

Which is better Ablative or non-Ablative?

Ablative treatments produce better and faster results; however, some clients do not want the downtime. With Ablative, your treated area will be raw for a few days, no makeup can be used during the healing phase. Non-Ablative provides a more gentle and subtle changes, perfect for individuals who have decent skin that needs some help or want to maintain what they already have.

Can anyone do a treatment?

iPixel is safe and effective for all skin types (I-IV). If you have any health issues, inform the clinic.

How many treatments will I need?

This really will depend on what we are starting with and what your goal is. Typically, 3-4 treatments will produce dramatic changes. The number will vary depending on the current status of the skin and the age of the client. Clients who have deep scars, may require additional treatments.

When would I see results?

Noticeable differences can be seen five days after the iPixel session. Pigments will begin to fade, the skin will appear tighter, but most of the results will appear over the next 4-5-week period after a treatment.

Is the clinic handicap accessible?

Unfortunately no, our clinic is on the 2nd floor with no elevator (only stairs).    If you have a specific handicap that can be assisted, we will do our level best to accommodate.    Contact the clinic to discuss your concerns.

Which area's can be treated?

Any area of the body and face can be treated safely. Most common areas are face, neck, and back of hands. Specific areas can be discussed in the consultation.

How often can I do an iPixel session?

Due to the ablative nature of iPixel, a waiting period of 6-8 weeks is required between sessions. The number of sessions and timing will vary client to client depending on their collagen production.

What should I do before treatment?

Do what your technician tells you! Do not apply any cream, oil  or makeup to the area being treated.

Do I need Pain Medication or Topical Numbing Cream?

As mentioned, the nature of the iPixel treatment can cause some discomfort, it is ultimately your choice to have pain medication or topical numbing cream.   Your tech will guide you through this process, and recommend laser safe brands and where to obtain them.    Most numbing creams need to be applied 1/2 hour before your treatment.   We have bathrooms and a waiting room if you wish to apply it at the clinic before your appointment.
